Emma's journey began in the Netherlands, where she was born to Ghanaian parents. Raised in Holland but steeped in Ghanaian traditions, Emma developed an early obsession with the regality and creativity of Ghana's traditional clothing and accessories. At the age of 10, Emma moved to the United States, bringing with her a deep appreciation for her heritage. Inspired by her multicultural background and a commitment to eco-consciousness, Emma set out to create Modern Natured.

Emma received invitations from show producers to collaborate with designers during Miami Swim Week to enhance their collections with Modern Natured's unique waist beads.
Riding the wave of positive feedback from Miami Swim Week, Modern Natured received another exciting invitation-to showcase their entire bead collection at the prestigious La Gallery Bourbon, all within a whirlwind month.
